LEESBURG, Fla., and St. John - Beatrice L. O'Leary White, 86, passed away peacefully Jan. 12, 2008, at Arbor Village Rehabilitation Nursing Center, Wildwood, Fla. Bea was born March 14, 1921, in St. John, the daughter of Lee and Clara (Mills) O'Leary. Bea enjoyed spending time with family, playing cards and traveling. After the death of her parents, Bea lived in St. Francis with her grandmother, Christine Mills, as a child. She graduated from Fort Fairfield High School while living with her Aunt Angie and Uncle Renis Levasseur. After graduation she worked as a waitress in Houlton, then moved to Waterville, and worked as a bookkeeper at Hathaway Shirt Factory. She then married Basil White and moved to Auburn and worked as a bookkeeper for Belgrade Shoe Co. for many years. After Belgrade Shoe Co. closed she moved to Turner and worked as a bookkeeper for Murray Oil Co., until retirement. Bea resided in Leesburg, Fla., for the past several years. Bea was a past member of Rebeccahs of Fort Fairfield and VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Auburn. Bea was predeceased by her husband, Basil, in 1968. She was also predeceased by three brothers, Elbert and Clavin O'Leary, both of Allagash and Robert O'Leary Sr., of St. Francis. She is survived by one sister, Faye O'Leary Hafford of Allagash, several nieces and nephews; and two special nieces, Faye O'Leary Hamm of North Fort Meyers, Fla., and Randi Hafford Jandreau of Fort Kent. She is also survived by her beloved and devoted partner, William "Bill" Tully of Leesburg, Fla. A graveside service will be held May 14, at St. Paul's Congregational Cemetery, St. Francis, for family and friends with Pastor John Dik officiating.
