BEATRICE F. CERAJEWSKI CARTER (NEE KMIEC) WHITING, IN Beatrice F. Cerajewski Carter (nee Kmiec), age 97 of Whiting, passed away Friday, May 10, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by son, Thomas Carter of Whiting; grandchildren: Patricia Kristek of Whiting, Kim (Kevin) Brynn of Whiting, and Jason Carter of Griffith; two great grandchildren: Alexander Brynn and Keegan Carter; step great grandson, Samuel Basler; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Eugene in 1978; parents: Andrew and Josephine Kmiec; brothers: Andrew, Joseph, and Alex; and sisters: Irene Kasper, Lucille Vinovich, Eleanor Kovachic, and Bernice Szurgot. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Whiting with the Rev. John E. Kalicky C.PP.S officiating. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City. Visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. Beatrice was a 1934 graduate of East Chicago Roosevelt High School. She was a housewife who loved to bake, knit, and sew and was an avid Cubs fan. She was devoted to her family and took pride in helping to raise her grandchildren and great grandson Alexander.
