Beatrice "Bea" E. Carter of Binghamton Beatrice "Bea" E. Carter, of Binghamton, 84, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at the Susquehanna Nursing Home. Bea was predeceased by her parents, Elmer Valentine and Lillian Russell; and a brother, Howard Valentine. Bea is survived by her loving family: husband, Marvin J. Carter; daughter, Shirley and Nicholas Markatos; sons, Dennis Carter and Michael and Bonnie Carter; sister and caretaker, Geraldine Grow; sisters-in-law, Doris Camp and Mary Ellen Parsons; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; also K-9 companion, Bailey. Bea was a good Christian woman. She loved shopping, knitting, crocheting, cooking, baking and preparing holiday meals for the family. It was as if she could do just about anything; she was a wonderfully capable woman. Bea was a warm and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed dearly by many. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson, NY with the Rev. Dr. Stephen W. Starzer officiating. Burial will follow in the Port Crane Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home on Saturday from 12 noon until the time of service.
