BARRETT-LENNARD, Beatrice Elizabeth (Betty) (nee Crowdy) Was born on December 19, 1917 in Montreal, Quebec. She earned a BSc. in Bacteriology from McGill University and, during WWII, worked as a WREN bacteriologist at a Halifax Naval Hospital. After the war, she worked at Shaughnessy Hospital in Vancouver until she married Walter in 1947. Betty passed away on December 10, 2011. Betty is survived by her daughters, Jane, Deborah and Barbara (Craig), her son, James (Gabrielle), and grandchildren, Brenna and Jamie. Her sister, Lorraine Baynton, lives in Colorado. Her sister, Barbara Lort, recently passed away, while her brother, Charles, died in combat during WWII. Betty was athletic as a young woman. She loved gardening, cooking and entertaining. After Walter passed away in 2002, Betty continued to take great interest in family and friends and will be remembered for her strong spirit, kind heart and generosity.
