->SMITH, BARBARABarbara Smith of Nanuet and Congers, NY, born in Hull, Yorkshire England, age 79, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on July 17, 2011; eternally reunited with her loving husband, Jimmie Smith and her sister, Patricia Bajorko. She is survived by her brother, John Beasty and wife, Eileen; her 5 children and their spouses, Michael and Kathy Smith, Helen and Jimmy Mangan, Mary and Joe Ciraldo, Barbara and Bobby Slater, Susan and Arthur Fallon; 17 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. Barbara was a published poet who loved to dance and sing. Barbara, Jimmie and their five children emigrated to the United States, settled in the Bronx and raised their beautiful family. Barbara lived and breathed for her family; they were everything to her. We will sorely miss her endless wit and humor, along with her unending love for all. Our deepest gratitude to Elsie Wynter, who loved and cared for our mother with dignity and grace. God blessed us when you came to our door, we will never forget your kindness. Visiting will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 1130am at St. Anthony's Shrine, Nanuet, NY followed by interment at St. Anthony's Cemetery.
