Smith, BarbaraJan. 26, 1932 - Jan. 8, 2008Barbara Smith, 75, Auburn, Wash., formerly of Sarasota, Fla., and Long Beach, Calif., died Jan. 8, 2008.Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Auburn with burial to follow at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Wash. Survivors include sons Robert, William, Larry, Robin, and Darrell; her sister, Georgianna Cooper; and 10 grandchildren. Additional survivors include nieces Melinda and Jennifer Cooper.Barbara was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. She retired from the Sarasota Sheriff's Office in 2001. She also left behind her beloved feline companion, Cookie.
