SMITH, Barbara Daphne (nee Massey) Ti to all who loved her Suddenly on August 13, 2006. Lovingly married to Ernest C. Smith (2003) for over 50 years. Youngest daughter of Frederic and Kathleen Massey. Born in 1922 in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, England. Immigrated to Canada after living in London during the Second World War. Adoring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to Josephine, Timothy, Simon (Barbara) and Jonathan (Sherry); Gavin (Kate), Dominic (Nicola), Charlotte (Francesco), Rebecca, Sarah, Martin, Ryan and Liam; and Lara, Edward and Ruby. From her travels to her writings on family history, we were so proud of her many accomplishments including graduation after retirement from Carleton University with a Bachelor of Arts. An avid swimmer, Ti was a fixture at the Carleton pool well into her 80s. She had a special place in her heart for all creatures great and small, most of all her beloved pussycat Pennykins who will be well looked after. She lived life with humility, grace and independence. Ti, you will be missed forever and a day! A private celebration for family will be held to honour her wonderful life.
