The funeral service for Barbara Ruth Williams Davis, 64, formerly of Hartselle, was held Sunday, June 4, 2006, at New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, Ill. Barbara entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 29, 2006. Barbara was the daughter of Shelvie Williams Sr. and Knewtie Bell Williams. She attended Morgan County Training School in Hartselle. She was the founder and CEO of Unique Office Services, Inc., a full service staffing agency located in downtown Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. Barbara was a very active member of the Chicago area community. Her community service included serving as a board member of the Cosmopolitan Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Negro Business & Professional Women’s Association, Lawson House YMCA and Southwest Community Service Organization. Barbara leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Bruce Davis Sr.; her children, Bruce Davis Jr. (Michel) and DeShaunne Davis-Bailey (Kevin); grandchildren, Kennedy and Braxton Davis, Chicago, Ill.; her father, Shelvie Williams Sr., Hartselle; two brothers, Don Wayne (Sandra) Williams, Locust Grove, Ga., and Larry (Carolyn) Williams, Tanner; three sisters, Charlene Miller, Cleveland, Ohio, Shirley Marie (Cornelius) Love, Eolia, Mo., and Gloria (Joe) Davis, Hartselle. Her mother, Knewtie; sister, Carolyn Williams; and brother, Shelvie Williams Jr. preceded her in death.
