->MADISON -- Barbara Reeves (Daniels) Smith, 73, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006, at Maplecrest Rehabilitation & Living Center in Madison.She was born Dec. 27, 1932, in Brewer, the daughter of Sherman E. and Constance (Osgood) Daniels. Barbara attended Rockland schools, graduating from Rockland High School with the class of 1951. She attended Lasell Jr. College and the University of Maine.In 1954 Barbara was married to Robert S. Smith. She was employed by Cedar Ridge Nursing Home in Skowhegan for 10 years and she also worked as a candy maker for Smith's Maple Products.She was a former member of the Skowhegan Extension Club, a member of Semper Fidelis, a member and past president of the Skowhegan Elks Auxiliary and a member of the Maine Maple Association.She is survived by her husband, Robert S. Smith of Skowhegan; her children, Sandie Swierzynski and her husband, John, of North Las Vagas, Nev., Susan Parker and her husband, Galen, of Skowhegan, Scott Smith and his wife, Triss, of Madison, Sharon Greenleaf and her fiancŽ, Rick, of Knob Noster, Mo., Stephanie Smith and her companion, Troy, of Warrensburg, Mo., and Stephen Smith and his wife, Nannette, of East Hampton, Mass.; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Linda Murray and her husband, James, of Rockland.A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Webster Cemetery in Caratunk, with the Rev. Mark Tanner officiating. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a memorial contribution to Maplecrest Rehabilitation & Living Center, Activity Fund, 174 Main St., Madison, ME 04950.Arrangements are by Giberson Funeral Home, 40 Maple St., Madison.
