Barbara R. Jackson, 66, of Wallkill, a longtime area resident, died Aug. 1, 2012, at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh.She was born Feb. 3, 1946, in Suffern to parents Thomas J. and Ruth (Owler) Bonneau. She married Robert H. Jackson on Oct. 28, 1972, in Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh. He died in 1988.Barbara graduated from Albertus Magnus High School in 1964 and Rockland County Practical Nursing School in 1968. She worked for Elant Nursing Home (previously Sylcox Nursing Home) for 24 years, retiring in 2007. She was a delegate and a member of the union 1199 SEIU.Survivors include two sons, Robert Jackson and his wife, Trisha, of Wappingers Falls, and Thomas Jackson of Wallkill; two grandsons, Robert III and Christopher; a brother, Thomas Bonneau Jr.; a sister, Mary Martin ; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., in Newburgh, handled all funeral arrangements.
