SMITH Barbara Pickering Smith, age 66, of Stratford, died on February 21, 2005, at Connecticut Hospice. She was born on April 10, 1938, in Norwalk, to John Pickering Sr. and the late Gladys Catto Pickering. She was employed by Hallmark Gift Cards as a supervisor. Mrs. Smith is survived by her devoted children, Laura Anderson of Hopkinton, Mass., Leisa Kelly of West Haven, Sheila Voigt of Milford, Peter Pullen Jr. of Monroe, and Sarah Pullen of Bridgeport; brother, John Pickering Jr. of New Milford; sister, Judy Hellman of Grass Valley, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2005, at St. Markts Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford, at 12 p.m. Smith Funeral Home, 135 Broad Street, Milford, is handling the arrangements.
