She is survived by her devoted husband, Charles; her beloved daughters, Elisabeth B. Wortley, of Tampa and Diane M. Jones and her partner and adopted daughter, Jo Surber, of Tampa; her loving daughter-in-law, Cindy Jones of McRae, Arkansas; and her wonderful grandson, Justin Wortley of Wesley Chapel; and two brothers, Gottfried (Erna) and Richard (Annemarie), of Markt Schwaben, Germany; along with two nieces, Heidi (Eddie) and Andrea; and her nephew, Bernd; all of Germany. She is also survived by Michelle and Melvin Rivera; and Anna and Ellla Rivera, her honorary granddaughters, Karen and Zach Hinnen; her honorary daughter and grandson; Suzanne Rubin, a longtime family friend and honorary daughter. They have been a great support system to our family and are so deeply appreciated. She is preceded in death by her first husband, William John Jones; her son, Robert William Jones and her parents, Elisabeth and Gottfried Huber. Barbara will forever be in our hearts and never forgotten. Her witty personality, her funny sayings, and her loving nature will live on and be fondly remembered by all of us. She had a love for sweets, reality shows, dachshunds, board games and sitting at the dining room table looking out at her little lake, she often called her paradise. Per her wishes, there will be no service. There will be a gathering of family and friends to celebrate her life on Friday, Jan. 23, 5-7 pm, at her beloved home, in Wesley Chapel (CALL FAMILY FOR DIRECTIONS). We would love if you could join us to celebrate the life of a beautiful wife, mom, grandmother and friend to all. A special thank you to Tammy, Brian, Marilyn, Reyni and Pat of Gulfside Regional Hospice for their tender care of our mom. You will always be remembered and appreciated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Dachshund Area Research & Education (D.A.R.E.) c/o Alisha Duval, 814 W. 116th Ave., Tampa, FL 34612, Gulfside Regional Hospice, 6117 Trouble Creek Rd., New Port Richey, FL 34653.
