Barbara Mills Armstrong DONALSONVILLE - Barbara Mills Armstrong, 85, a nurse, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004. The service was Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, at the First Baptist Church of Donalsonville, with Dr. Ron McCaskill and the Rev. Luther Hastey officiating. The interment was at Friendship Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Donalsonville, P.O. Box 81, Donalsonville, GA 39845.Pallbearers were Tommy Newberry, Keith Pendergrass, Kenneth Herring, Jimmy Thomas, Joe Burke and Chris Thomas. Honorary pallbearers were the Jubilees. Ms. Barbara was born on June 21, 1918, in Shorterville, Ala., to Alex and Mary Pinney Mills. Since the mid-1940s, she lived in Donalsonville, where she and her husband, Robert P. Armstrong, raised their two children.She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Donalsonville and the Jubilee's Mature Adult Sunday School class. She could almost always be seen at the Senior Citizens Center, where she worked in many areas. She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Robert Kenneth Armstrong (and wife Phyllis); a daughter, Mary Angela Suggs (and husband Rodney); seven grandchildren, Djuana Rinehart (and husband Tom), Traci Evans (and husband Terry), Adam Armstrong (and wife Patty), Klay Armstrong, Kevin Suggs and Michael and Amanda Hall; and seven great-grandchildren, Rachel, Caroline, Addie, Hank, Beau, Brantley and Christopher.She was preceded in death by her husband.
