SMITH Barbara Marie Smith, 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 29, 2007, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Smith was born on October 30, 1913 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and was a longtime resident of Jacksonville. Affectionately known as Grandma, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joshua Warren “Smitty” Smith, Captain, U.S. Army, Retired. She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Ann Smith; one son, James Warren “Jim” Smith and his wife Robyn; two sisters and their husbands, Maggie (Charles) Rauzan, Ann (Laurance) Brown; three grandchildren, Jim “J.P.”, his wife Erin, Barbara and Bridgette; two great- grandchildren, Felicia and Warren; many nieces, nephews, other loving family and dear friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, August 2, with a Vigil Service held at 7:00 pm in the chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Boulevard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Friday, August 3, at Assumption Catholic Church, 2403 Atlantic Boulevard, with Fr. Thanh Nguyen officiating. Interment will follow in Arlington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4114 Sunbeam Road, Suite #101, Jacksonville, FL 32257 or to Christ The King Catholic Church, 742 North Arlington Road, Jacksonville, FL 32211.
