Barbara Mae Scott, RN, BN Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Lower Sackville) SCOTT, Barbara Mae, R.N., B.N. - 75, passed away in Scotia Nursing Home on Sunday, January 16, 2005. Born in Lower Sackville, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Grace (Whitford) Scott. She was predeceased by her brother, Gerald "Bud" Scott in 2000. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Kathleen Scott, Lower Sackville; niece, Elaine Dawson (Edward), Lantz; nephew, David Scott (Millie), Lower Sackville; two great-nieces and several cousins. Barbara graduated from nursing at Pazant Memorial Hospital, Windsor. Then she worked at Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow until joining the staff of the I.W.K. Hospital as Director of Nursing Education, until her retirement in 1989 after 33 years. Barb had received many awards including the Margaret Ross Award, and the Governor General's Award. Barb was a member of Knox United Church, where she was an elder and also taught Sunday school. She loved gardening, traveling, and caring over the years for her many dogs and cats. Arrangements are entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville, where visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 18, from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place in Knox United Church on Wednesday, January 19, at 2 p.m. Interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lower Sackville. Reception to follow in the church hall. Flowers gratefully accepted.
