Barbara Lee, née en 1933, conjointe de James Lee, est décédée le 30 mars 2014.
Lee, BarbaraBarbara (Button) Lee of Fairfield, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2014 at The Carolton Convalescent Hospital, surrounded by people who love her. Born in the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, CT on February 20, 1933 to the late Martin and Dorothy Button, Barbara loved growing up around people with whom she would continue to be close throughout her life. Even after her childhood years, Barbara visited St. Mary's every Saturday for a walk and drive through her old neighborhood. She remained active on the Bassick H.S. Class Reunion committee where she had many good friends. Barbara was most proud of her job at The Carolton Hospital, where she worked for many years. She took great pride and pleasure in being a member of Black Rock Congregational Church, where she was part of the Bell Choir, enjoyed helping with childcare, and volunteered for VBS each summer. Barbara was recognized by her neighbors for her daily walks around the neighborhood, rain or shine; first as a newlywed, then as a young mother, and finally as a proud Grandma. In her later years, needing the assistance of a walker did not stop her from taking these walks. Over the years, she must have walked thousands of miles. Barbara will always be remembered as a kindhearted, loving, and gentle soul, touching the lives of countless people in a way that came naturally to her. Barbara was predeceased by her husband, James (Jimmy) R. Lee, and is survived by their children: Christopher Lee of Fairfield, CT, Susan Lee Lanzaro and husband Michael of Fairfield, CT. Barbara is also survived by her beloved granddaughters, Taylor and Kayliana Lanzaro, whom she spent many days caring for and creating fond memories with, her cousin, Harold (Bud) Poplees, of Long Island, NY, of whom she thought of as a brother, her sister-in-law, Renee Lee, as well as nieces, nephews, and numerous cherished friends. Just knowing Barbara has greatly blessed us all. A celebration of her life will be held at 3pm on Saturday April 5th in First Presbyterian Church 2475 Easton Turnpike of Fairfield, CT.
