Barbara "Bobie" Lau West, 82, Venice, died Dec. 12, 2006. She was born Feb. 27, 1924, in Bronxville, N.Y., and came to Venice from there 49 years ago. She was a homemaker and volunteered at Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Venice Hospital and SPARCC. She was a member of the American Cancer Society, Gulfcoast Girl Scout Council, Venice Little Theatre and Venice Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Johnny; daughters Tally of Ocala and Lindy of Berkeley, Calif.; a son, Mitch of Englewood; a brother Mike Lau of California; and three grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Mark's Episcopal Church.
