She was predeceased by her parents Charles and Helen Cunningham and husband Richard L. Smith. She is survived by her son Charles S. Smith; cousin James E. Soule; good personal friend Danielle Thorne who was at her side with her extended illness in her time of need. Barb was a giving person to her friends and wasn't afraid to tell others what she thought of them at any time. She will always be remembered as a very petite feisty individual who was loved by the people she had touched. She enjoyed watching television and particularly old movies on TCM. She was a member of the Johnson City VFW 2332 Women's Auxiliary and the All Saints Episcopal Church, Johnson City. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday January 2, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the All Saints Episcopal Church 475 Main Street Johnson City. Her Rector the Rev. Christine Day will officiate. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery.
