HALL Barbara Kirkby Hall, age 68, of Fairfield, died on Wednesday, August 20, 2003, at St. Vincent0s Medical Center, Bridgeport, with her loving family at her side. She was the widow of Thomas J. Hall. Born in Bridgeport to the late Harry D. and Elizabeth Robinson Kirkby, she had resided in Fairfield for the last 42 years. Barbara was a graduate of Central High School and Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing. During her nursing career, she was employed by Bridgeport Hospital, St. Vincent0s Medical Center recovery room, and most recently retired after several years at Fairfield University Health Center. Mrs. Hall was involved with various nursing associations, was a member of the Easton Senior Citizens and was very active in Trinity Episcopal Church. She enjoyed the beach, needlepoint, crossword puzzles and most of all, her beloved grandchildren. She also had a great love of animals and was a selfless, generous and caring person. Barbara is survived by her devoted children: one son, Thomas K. Hall and his wife, Margaret, of Woodbury; two daughters, Dr. Susan Hall Marvin and her husband, Richard, of Guilford, and Dr. Amy Hall Newman and her husband, James, of Mashpee, Mass.; one brother, William Kirkby and his wife, Joan, of Brewster, Mass.; her nine loving grandchildren: Kurtis, Colin, Aaron, Elizabeth and Olivia Hall, Anna Grace Marvin and Andrew, Patrick and Abigail Newman; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Robert Kirkby. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, August 23, 2003, at 10 a.m. DIRECTLY at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1734 Huntington Turnpike, Trumbull. Interment will be in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may call on Friday, TODAY, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford.
