Barbara Johnson March 16, 1928 - April 11, 2010 Yantic - Barbara (Taylor) Johnson, 82, wife of the late Arnold F. Johnson, Sr. of 44 Sunnyside West Rd., Yantic, died Sunday at her home. Born in Norwich on March 16, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Stanley J. and Amelia (Leahy) Taylor, Sr. Prior to her retirement she was employed at the Waterford Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was a member of the Yantic Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. On October 10, 1947 in Norwich she was united in marriage to Arnold F. Johnson, Sr. who died October 18, 2002. Surviving are her daughter Donna L. Johnson of Yantic with whom she made her home, and her son Arnold P. Johnson, Jr. of Norwich. One sister Elizabeth A. Michon of Groton. Six grandchildren and several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son John H. Johnson, and two brothers, Stanley J. Taylor, Jr., and William T. Taylor. Memorial visitation will take place on Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 2 p.m. at the Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave., Norwich. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the charity of donors choice.
