POWELL-WILLIAMS _ Barbara Joan (nee Dash), Tsawwassen, B.C. Barbara Powell-Williams, born November 21, l914 and died October 22, 2005. Barbara was born in Stroud, Gloucestershire, England. Upon completing her secondary education, she obtained her certification in physiotherapy and began practicing in London. It was here, in February of 1944 she met and married Vivian Powell-Williams. Ten years later, they embarked on an adventure, moving to Canada with their young family of four. Settling in North Vancouver, Barbara established a private physiotherapy practice, which she later expanded to clinics in Abbotsford and Saltspring Island. She was a talented artist, creative in painting, photography and arranging flowers. Barbara was active in the local community and the Altar Guilds of St. Martin's and St. Matthew's Anglican Churches. Above all she extended love, kindness and generosity to all in her world. Barbara is predeceased by her beloved husband, Vivian, her brothers, Douglas and Eric Dash. She is survived by her children, David, Thalia, Andy, Dudley, their families and her sister, Peggy Rosser. The family would like to thank Dr. Anthony Chui and Dr. Richard James for their devoted medical attention and Mirjana Krecic and her staff at Beach Grove Residence for their exceptional care and kindness. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Matthew's Anglican Church, 2010 Guilford Drive, Abbotsford on November 5th at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Altar Guild of St. Matthew's Anglican Church or the charity of your choice.
