Born September 12, 1921 in Wilson County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Early Erby and Ella Mae Hobbs Jennings. She owned and operated Barbara's Dress Shop in Lebanon for forty five years along with her husband. She was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday School and had sang in the choir. She was the first recipient of the Mike Baker Award of Wilson County presented at the Wilson County Fair. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty two years, Ernest Johnson on April 9, 2002; and three brothers, Wallace, Kenneth and Harold Jennings. She is survived by two sons, Dr. Wayne Johnson and his wife Linda, Randy Johnson and his wife Jamie all of Lebanon; four grandchildren, Ashlie (Dr. John) Gallaher of Lebanon, Dr. Rick (Melissa) Johnson of Murfreesboro, Lisa (Randy) Newman and Dr. Linda (Stan) Durham all of Lebanon; nine great grandchildren, Grace, AnnaBelle and Lofton Gallaher, John and Jim Newman, Lindsay and Elizabeth Durham, Jordyn and Isaiah Johnson; two sisters, Joann Jennings Stewart of Nashville and Joy Jennings Phillips of Lebanon. Her remains rest at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Lebanon, where services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2009 with Rev. Donald Owens officiating. Interment Bartons Creek Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers: Nieces and Nephews. Active Pallbearers: Dr. Rick Johnson, Dr. John Gallaher, Stan Durham, Randy, John and Jim Newman.
