Barbara Jean Mitchell DOVER - Barbara Jean Mitchell, 83, of Farmington Drive, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover. Barbara was born on April 3, 1930 in Foxboro, Mass.; the daughter of Henry and Francis (Ross) Hansen. She married the love of her life James "Pete" Mitchell in 1951. Barbara had three beautiful sons whom she adored. Barbara was a housewife and homemaker; she enjoyed being with her family and caring for her family everyday. She loved traveling and was an avid Red Sox Fan and Patriot's Fan. She loved going to Rye Beach and just combing the beach for seashells or enjoying the sunshine and the sounds of the waves. Barbara is survived by her husband of 61 years, James "Pete" Mitchell of Dover; her sons, James R. Mitchell, David S. Mitchell both of Dover and Andrew (Todd) Mitchell of Gonic and her daughter-in-law, June Bragdon of Gonic. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara's name to the Great Bay Services, 2061 Woodbury Ave Newington, NH 03801. A private graveside service will be held at the Pine Hill Cemetery on Central Ave., Dover, N.H. 03820 with Rev. David L. Slater, officiating.
