Mrs. Barbara J. Goodwin, 88, passed away Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at Norwood Hospital in Norwood. She was born in Lemington, Vt., Jan. 10, 1923, the third daughter of the late Peter E. and Florence J. (Enman) Perron. She was educated in the local schools and graduated from Colebrook Academy with the Class of 1940. For many years, Barbara was employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the Dept. of Public Welfare. She was an avid fan of the Boston Celtics and was known to be a wonderful cook. Barbara also loved to read romance novels, and she enjoyed her time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her five daughters, Stephanie Vitt and husband Daniel of Norwood, Deborah Callahan and husband Kevin of Berkley, Cynthia Fitzgerald and husband David of Kingston, Kathryn Goodwin of Norwood, and Beth Goodwin of Norwood; seven grandchildren, Dr. Julie Callahan Clark and husband Garrett of Philadelphia, Penn., Gunners Mate, 3rd Class, Kevin P. Callahan, USN, Stephen A. Callahan of Berkley, Andrew and Garrett Vitt of Norwood, Sean and Katelyn Fitzgerald of Kingston ; a brother, Frederick Cunningham and wife Dencie of Canaan, Vt.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Edwin S. Goodwin; and her siblings Pauline Burbank, Catherine Kirk, Gordon Perron, Brandon J. Perron Sr., Richard Perron, Ronald C. Cunningham, and W. Bevin Cunningham. Calling hours were held Friday evening, Nov. 11, 2011, from 6-8 p.m. at the Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook, NH. A memorial Mass was held Saturday, Nov. 12 at 11 a.m. at St. Brendans Catholic Church in Colebrook. Interment followed at the Colebrook Village Cemetery.
