KERSHAW – Mrs. Barbara Humphries Davis, 69, of Kershaw, widow of William Frank Davis, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at her home. She was born June 27, 1944, in Lancaster, a daughter of the late James Allen Humphries and Pauline Louise Wright Humphries. Mrs. Davis was a member of New Testament Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Mrs. Davis retired from McClancy Seasoning and Lancaster Motor Speedway. She was always taking care of family and friends before herself. Mrs. Davis was a great cook, she enjoyed reading books and was dedicated to her church. Most of all she loved being with the children of the family.A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Davis is 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, at the Lancaster chapel of Lancaster Funeral Home with the Rev. James Aldridge officiating. Burial will be in Westside Cemetery.Mrs. Davis is survived by a daughter, Lori Melton and her husband, Wayne, of Kershaw; a daughter-in-law, Angela Williams of Lancaster; a brother, Bobby Humphries and his wife, Linda, of Lancaster; a sister, Iva Mae Sims of Lancaster; five grandchildren, Austin Davis, Johnathan Melton, Sebrina Melton, Gretta Davis and Madison Williams; and a number of nieces and nephews.
