->MESA, Ariz. -- Barbara Smith passed away at her home in Mesa on Dec. 27, 2006, following a brief illness.Barbara was born on March 30, 1931, in Madison, Maine, the daughter of Ralph and Mary Collins. She graduated from Madison High School and later graduated from nursing school.She later moved to Arizona where she made her home.Barbara loved spending time with her family and friends, and dancing and playing cards. She was always full of life and you could always count on her to put a smile on your face.Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Getchem Smith; her parents; four brothers, Everett Rogers Sr., MIlton Rogers, Arthur Rogers and Ralph Collins Jr.; two sisters, Hattie Bean and Lorena Damren; and a special niece, Arlene Perkins.She is survived by two sisters, Pearl Carl of Bingham and Thelma Foss of Athens; her companion, Stanton Golliher, of Mesa; and many nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her niece, Roxann King, of North Anson.By request, Barbara will be laid to rest in Arizona.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of one's choice.
