BROWN, BARBARAMrs. Barbara McRae Brown age 59, of Starke passed away Thursday, January 14, 2010 at her residence. Mrs. Brown was born on December 24, 1950 in Gainesville and was a lifelong resident of Bradford County. Mrs. Brown began her career with the Bradford County School Board working as a teacher's aid and later worked as a confidential secretary for over 34 years. She started working in 1975 at Lawtey Community School, then worked at Southside for 18 years, and Hampton for 15 years. She was a member of Pine Level Baptist Church, an avid Gator fan, a Baseball Nana, and enjoyed fishing, and family with grandchildren being her life. She was preceded in death by her infant son in 1975, and father Robert Marion McRae. Survivors are: her husband of 42 years, Dale Brown, Sr. of Starke; children: Kim Holsenbeck (Mitch); Kyle Brown (Jasmine) all of Starke; Dale Brown, Jr. (Vicki) of Kosciusko, Miss; her mother Gertie Goodman McRae of Starke; siblings: Beverly Shaw (Jim) of Conn; Dewayne McRae (Linda Huggins-McRae) of Starke; grandchildren: Dustin Holsenbeck; Dalton Holsenbeck; Dalen Brown; Devyn Brown; Morgan Price and Shelby Price. The family will receive friends at the DEWITT C. JONES CHAPEL on Sunday, January 17, 2010 from 4-6 PM. Funeral services will be on Monday, January 18, 2010 in Pine Level Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with Pastor Preston Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Crosby Lake Cemetery.
