Brown, Barbara, 65, Boca Raton, passed away September 20, 2003. Barbara was known throughout the South Florida area for her extensive work with major national organizations associated with heart, stroke and diabetes. For the last five years as the Executive Director of the American Parkinson's Disease Association I&R Center located at North Broward Medical Center. She has been instrumental in creating and managing numerous innovative programs for patients and caregivers. At her death she was operating over 30 support groups. This season, the Quality-of-Life series she had created will go forward in her honor. She was a professional in every sense of the word and the hundreds who worked with her and those who valued her as good friend know that she will be sorely missed. She tirelessly devoted herself to her late husband Irving "Bill" Brown who predeceased her earlier this summer, and is survived by her mother Corinne Dimarino and cousin Diane DiPirro of Massachusetts. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 25th at 1:00PM at the N. Broward Medical Center's Conference Center at 201 East Sample Road, Pompano Beach, FL.
