Barbara Anne (Higginson) Lee, aged 81 years, died at the home of her daughter, Patricia Joy, on Jan. 17, 2013, under the care of Hope Hospice Care of Hyannis, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Elmer C. Lee and the late Edward J. Ouellette Jr. She was born in Newark, NJ, daughter of the late Edward L. Sr. and Mildred C. (Campbell) Higginson. She lived most of her life in the Lakeville and Middleboro area. She was a graduate of Somerville High School. Barbara was the loving mother of two daughters, Patricia (Ouellette) and her husband Daniel Joy of Middleboro, and Cynthia (Ouellette) Caron of Freetown, devoted grandmother of four grandchildren, Michelle Caron, Andrew Caron, Lindsay (Joy) Deignan, and Daniel Joy, two great-grandsons, Zachary and Alexander Lavelle, two sister-in-laws, Doris Foye and Jeralyn Higginson. She was sister of the late Edward L. Higginson Jr. and Donald Higginson. She leaves many many dear friends and neighbors with whom she loved to spend time with. She was a huge proponent of the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, and was cheered by her family on the sidelines for 5 years. Visiting hours will be held in the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St., Middleboro, on Monday, Jan. 21, from 3:30 - 6:30 p.m. A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 22, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
