Barbara-A. Smith, née en 1933, conjointe de Paul-I. Smith, fille de William et Marion, mère de Lisa Smith, Christina Smith et Paul, est décédée le 19 janvier 2015 à l'âge de 81 ans.
Hooksett - Barbara A. (Thomson) Smith, 81, of Hooksett died on Jan. 19, 2015 at Genesis Health Care Center Rehabilitation Unit, while recovering from a fractured hip. She was born in Lowell, Mass., on April 16, 1933, and was the daughter of the late William and Marion (Ross) Thomson. She received her education in the Lowell school system, and was a graduate of Lowell General Hospital School of Nursing along with her twin sister Lillian Wooster, and her sister Grace Scott. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Dr. Edward O. Tabor as an Obstetric Nurse. Following her retirement, she helped care for her grandchildren and was very active in their lives, and became known as G-Ma. In her free time she was an avid sports fan, loving tennis and the New England Patriots. Barbara also enjoyed time at the lake with family, dining out, and reading books. Barbara will be remembered as a loving and fun wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. She was out-going, spoke her mind, and had a great sense of humor. She was very proud of her Scottish heritage, and maintained some of her Lowell, Mass., accent throughout her life. She will be greatly missed by her loving family members which include three children: a son Paul Smith and wife Susan of Bedford, two daughters: Christina Smith Reichenthal of Bedford, and Lisa Smith Brunelle of Hooksett; eight grandchildren: Heather Brunelle of Stuart, Fla., Alison Smith of Londonderry, Melissa (Brunelle) Beaulieu of Saco, Maine, Ryan Smith of Bedford, Samantha and Kyle Brunelle of Hooksett, Evan Reichenthal of Princeton, Mass., and Jacob Reichenthal of Bedford; great-grandmother to Abraham Beaulieu of Saco, Maine. She is survived by her sister Grace Scott of Lowell, Mass., and several nieces and nephews. She was the wife of the late Paul I. Smith; and sister to predeceased siblings, John Thomson, Marion Thomson, twin Lillian Wooster, and Anne Gilman. Our mother did not want any memorial services to be held, so we are honoring her wishes. A small private gathering of family and close friends will be held at the home of her son, to celebrate her life and share happy memories. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made in Barbara's name to the; ;(function() { var adKeyValue = 't='; adKeyValue+= escape('clio=ALA'); adKeyValue += escape('&cobrand=unionleader'); adKeyValue += escape('&linktext=American Lung Association'); adKeyValue += escape('&linkurl=http://action.lung.org/site/Donation2?10327.donation=form1&df_id=10327&set.TributeType=MEMORIAL&set.TributeFirstName=Barbara&set.TributeLastName=Smith&set.TributeMessage=A+gift+has+been+made+in+remembrance+of+Barbara+Smith&utm_source=Legacy_CLIO&utm_medium=Web&utm_campaign=GiveInMemory'); adKeyValue += escape('&fn=Barbara'); adKeyValue += escape('&ln=Smith'); var adClkUrl = 'http://pubads.g.doubleclick.net/gampad/jump?iu=/423686928/prod/obit-aff/obit-standard/clio-inline-1&' + adKeyValue + '&sz=1x1&c=693999609'; var adImpUrl = 'http://pubads.g.doubleclick.net/gampad/ad?iu=/423686928/prod/obit-aff/obit-standard/clio-inline-1&' + adKeyValue + '&sz=1x1&c=693999609'; document.write("<a href='" + adClkUrl + "' target=_blank>American Lung Association<" + 'img' + " src='" + adImpUrl + "' style='width=1px; height=1px; display:inline;' /></a>"); }()); of the North East, 122 State St., Augusta, Maine 04330.
