Brother Patrick Fleming CFC died in Sound Shore Medical Center after suffering a massive stroke. He was 87 years old. Brother Fleming was born in Mullingar, Ireland in 1913 and entered the Congregation of Christian Brothers in 1928. He taught in Newfoundland, Canada for 28 years and was Headmaster at St. Bonaventure College in St. John's for 6 years. He was a consultor for the American province from 1953 to 1960 and was an assistant to the Superior General from 1960 to 1972. He taught at Essex Catholic in Newark, NJ from 1972-1975 and at Catholic Memorial in west Roxbury, MA from 1975 to 1998. His last few years were spent at St. Joseph's Care Center in New Rochelle, NY. In the New York Archdiocese, Brother taught at Blessed Sacrament High School in New Rochelle from 1943 to 1947. Brother Fleming has a brother (John) and a sister (Sr. Mary Bernard) in Ireland. He was predeceased by brothers, Christopher, Edward, Daniel and William and a sister, Marcella. He is survived by several nieces and cousins. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Joseph's Care Center, 30 Montgomery Circle, New Rochelle, NY 10804 are appreciated. The wake will be at St. Joseph's Care Center, 30 on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 and from 7:00 to 9:00. Mass of the Resurrection will be at Holy Family Church in New Rochelle at 9:00 on Monday, March 19.
