Dr. Bobby Marshall Henderson, age 60, died May 24, 2006 in Rydal, PA. He is a native of Durham, NC, the son of Tazzie Henderson and the late John M. Henderson. He was a graduate of Hillside High School, Class of 1963 and North Carolina College (now North Carolina Central University), Durham, NC, receiving his BS Degree in Biology/ Chemistry in 1967. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Tuskegee Institute in Tuskegee Institute, Alabama in 1973. Upon graduating from Tuskegee, he pursued post-doctoral studies at Purdue University and the Indiana School of Medicine. He received a MS Degree in Veterinary and Human Toxicology from Purdue University in 1978. In 1978, he joined American CyanamidLederle Laboratories in New York, as an animal researcher. In 1989, Dr. Henderson decided to join the staff of Lincoln University in Pennsylvania as a professor and Chairman of the Biology Department. He served as tenured Profession and Chairman of the Division of Natural Science, Mathematics and Computer Science. He was a deeply religious and spiritual Man. Dr. Bob and family made their church home at Salem Baptist Church in Jenkintown, PA. He was an active member of various organizations including Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., the Spring Valley, New York Branch of the NAACP, and the historic American Foundation for Negro Affairs, in Philadelphia. He is survived by his wife, Thelma T. Henderson of the home; four children, Alysha (Tramayne) Simmons, Aaron (Luana) Henderson, Zandrea Henderson, and Michael Henderson; his mother, Mrs. Tazzie Ray Henderson; three brothers and one sister. Funeral Services will be held today, 11:00 AM, at Mount Level Baptist Church, Durham, NC. A Memorial Service will be held in Philadelphia on June 24, 2006. Funeral arrangements provide by Ellis D.
