BOBBY GERALDCASEY, 77 WINTER HAVEN - Bobby Gerald Casey passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 3, 2014 due to COPD. Born in Plant City on May 18, 1936, he was a lifelong resident of this area. He graduated from Turkey Creek High School in 1954 and then went to work on the iron ore boats on Lake Erie for several years before returning to Plant City. He retired from Crown Cork & Seal in Bartow after 30 years and then became a Realtor for Country Class Realty in Mulberry. He enjoyed coaching Little League baseball in Bartow when his sons were young and volunteered many years for the Sun 'n Fun fly-in. His passion in later years was playing golf with his buddies at Willowbrook Golf Course. Mr. Casey was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Bessie Casey of Plant City; his brother, Sherman (Donald) Casey of Bartow; and his sister, Bernice Allen of Plant City. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Donna Casey of Winter Haven; daughter, Terry Whitcomb (Bill), Winter Haven; son, Randy Casey, (Leah) Jacksonville, FL; son, Bobby Casey (Carol), Melbourne, FL; son, Rick Mears, Austin TX; and Randy Mears, (Amy) Auburndale, FL; sister, Bonnie White, Crystal River, FL; sister, Mary Osteen, Oakwood, GA; sister, Carolyn (John) Prahl of Lakeland, 14 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held this Saturday, Jan. 11, at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Havendale Blvd., Winter Haven. Visitation and viewing will be from 10:00-11:00 AM with service starting at 11:00 in the chapel. Inurnment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the food pantry fund at "Family Worship Center, PO Box 10590, Oakwood, GA 30566".
