MITCHELL, BETTY JO CHAMBERS - age 85, of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Holston Health and Rehabilitation Center. Betty was a graduate of the Knoxville School of Business and was co-owner and bus contractor with Knox County Schools for over 59 years. She was a member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church. She loved her family, church, and the Lord Jesus. Preceded in death by husband of 63 years, C.B. Mitchell; father, Albert Chambers; mother, Leacle Pratt Chambers Madgett; step-father, Roy Madgett, Sr.; and sister, Ruby Chambers Sherrod. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Allen Morgan; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Cindy Mitchell; grandchildren, Chris Morgan and wife, Melanie, Chad Mitchell, and Caroline Mitchell; great-granddaughter, Collins Morgan; brother, Burl Chambers and wife, Frankie; sisters-in-law, Lillian M. Blake, Betty M. Blake (New Market), Jean M. Thornton Stout and husband, Jim (Kingsport); brother-in-law, Norman Sherrod; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the entire staff at Holston Health and Rehabilitation Center for their wonderful support and excellent care, and appreciation to the staff of Trinity Hills Assisted Living and doctors, Dr. John Blake, and Dr. Chris Scott. The family will receive friends 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Bridges Funeral Home and then proceed to Caledonia Cemetery for a 12:00 p.m. graveside service, with Rev.
