Betty Andrews Cox, 77, of DeLand, passed away on August 15, 2011 at the Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/ Flagler Care Center in Orange City. She was born in Plant City, Florida on January 27, 1934 and moved to DeLand in 1963. Betty was a lab technician for Sherwood Medical for 30 years until her retirement in 1999 and was a member of Abundant Life Fellowship Church in Barberville. Her survivors include her husband of 25 years, Donald; son Steven Andrews of DeLand, Florida; daughters June Andrews and Vickie Andrews, both of DeLand, Florida; sisters Maxine Edgemon of Brandon, Florida and Velma Davis of Dover, Florida; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, 8/17 from 6-8 p.m. at the Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home in DeLand. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, 8/18 T 10:30am at the Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel in DeLand with Reverend Jesse Roland officiating. Entombment will follow at DeLand Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32119. Allen-Summerhill DeLand is in charge.
