Mrs. Bertha Rice Jones September 15, 1922 - May 1, 2006 Mrs. Bertha R. Jones, 83, passed away on Monday at Huntsville Hos-pital. Mrs. Jones was a teacher in the Montgomery county school system for 30 years, she was a member of Union Chapel M. B. Church where she served on the Mother's Board until her death. She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, Hendley Chapter #855, Daughter of Isis and various other organizations in the community. Mother Jones leaves to cherish her loving memories, her son Walter and his wife Gayle of Somerset, New Jersey; her daughters Angela Patton and her husband Robert of Huntsville, AL and Dr. Shirley E. Jones of Kingsland, GA; one stepson Arthur Jones and his wife Connie and one stepdaughter Peg-gy Ann Jones; three grandchildren, several step grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other rela-tives and special friends. Funeral services for Mother Jones will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday from the Union Chapel M. B. Church at 315 Winchester Road in Huntsville, AL with Rev. Dr. O. Wen-dell Davis officiating. Burial will be in Eastwood Memorial Gardens in Montgomery, AL. The remains of Mother Jones will be in the church one hour prior to funeral time.
