WILLIAMS, MRS. BERNICE LOVIN - age 71, of Sharps Chapel, born October 12, 1943, in Tellico Plains, Tennessee, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 9, 2014, after a courageous fight against Alzheimer's disease. She was of the Baptist faith and was saved as a young girl. She was active in her church up until her illness and was a member of Blue Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She always held herself to a standard of grace and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. A friend to many and loved by all who knew her. Preceded in death by parents, Oliver and Carrie Mae Lovin; brothers, Charles, Ray and Fate Lovin; sister, Carolyn Painter; son, Michael Alan Williams; daughter, Lori Ann Williams; grandson, Tyler Williams; great granddaughters, Lindsey Shea Summers, Madeline Grace Summers; great grandson, Steven Layne Nicley. Survived by her loving and devoted husband of 55 years, G. P. Williams; daughters, Rhonda (Pete) Cox, Renee Williams, Karrie (Ashley) Moore; daughter-in-law, Tonya Williams Raby; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sister, Mary Lovin Cagle; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Claiborne County Nursing Home for showing her such compassionate care over the last few months. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2014, with funeral services to follow at 8:00 p.m., Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Grandson Colton Rutherford, Rev. Jason Walker officiating. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home to go in procession to Sharp-Rogers Cemetery, Sharps Chapel for interment at 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers: Pete Cox, Ashley Moore, Allen Rutherford, Rodney Brantley, Brent Buckner, Jerry Lynn Walker.
