-->Barbara A. Williams ASHEVILLE, NC-- Barbara Ann Williams, of 99 Laurel Loop, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009. A native of Spartanburg, SC, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Rosa Wood Montgomery. "Barb" was a 1965 graduate of Carver High School. She worked with the Spartanburg County Head Start Program for 30 years, and with Community Actions Opportunity (Lonnie D. Burton) in Asheville for 10 years. Surviving are her husband, Mitchell E. "Mitch" Williams; step-daughters, Toshiba L. Williams of West Orange, NJ and Tasheeka N. Williams of Atlanta, GA; brother, Freddie Montgomery (Sharon) of Winston-Salem, NC; sisters, Rosa Givens (Harold) of Accokeek, MD and Valarie Montgomery of Spartanburg; aunts, Frances Jones who was like a mother to her and Dorothy Montgomery; uncle, Walter Montgomery; five nieces and nephews; five great- nieces and nephews whom were very dear to her; a host of other relatives and friends. Services will be held Saturday, March 14, 2009 at noon in Nazareth First Baptist Church where she was a faithful member and worked with the Youth Ministry. Dr. C.R. Mosley will officiate; burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends 30 minutes and other times at the home of her aunt Frances Jones, 425 Bethlehem Drive.
