MOORE, Audrey Ann (nee McHugh) March 21, 1933 – Strome, AB November 25, 2014 – Calgary, AB Audrey Ann Moore, adored wife of the Honorable William Kenneth Moore, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, November 25, 2014. Audrey was born on March 21, 1933 in Strome, Alberta, the second eldest child of Jim and Loretta McHugh. She grew up in Hartell, Alberta, and went on to obtain her RN diploma from the Holy Cross Hospital School of Nursing, in Calgary. After graduating from nursing school in 1954, Audrey worked at the Holy Cross and then moved on to a career as an airline stewardess with TransCanada Airlines. Audrey's true vocation in life was as a devoted wife, loving mother and caring grandma. Audrey and Ken were happily wed for 59 years, and their union produced seven children. She is survived by Joan (Yves) Gauthier, Jim (Linda) Moore, Dan (Gina) Moore, Bill (Allison Hakomaki) Moore, Maureen (Larry) Hobden, Tracey Moore-Lewis (Ward Lewis), and Bob (Jody) Moore. Audrey was the cherished grandma to twenty grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her sister Carol Paetz, brothers; Dennis (Deanna), Frank (Shirley), Gerald (Marlene) and Donald (Bev) McHugh, and sister-in-law Shirley McHugh. Audrey was a favorite auntie to dozens of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Allan and her sister Terrilea. Audrey was a selfless and compassionate woman, who always put the needs of others before her own. She was unfailingly kind and generous, and always saw the best in everyone she met. She was a gracious hostess and her favorite times were spent cooking and sharing Sunday dinners. Everyone was always welcome around her table.She was a woman of deep and abiding faith – a faith which carried her home into the arms of Our Lord. Audrey's compassion and generosity extended far beyond the reaches of her immediate family. She was a committed member of several ministries at St. Anthony's Catholic Church including the CWL. She devoted several years of her life to the pastoral care of those who were sick, dying, elderly and infirm, as the parish Pastoral Care coordinator for Trinity Lodge and Chinook CareWest. A talented artist, Audrey's oil paintings grace the walls of friends and family alike. She loved to garden and to golf, and she loved to sing – especially while rocking babies – anyone's babies!She was a woman of beauty and grace, and will be forever missed by those who cherished her.
