Audrey Lee Allsbrook Johnson - RICHMOND HILL - Audrey Lee Allsbrook Johnson, age 95, passed away March 5, 2011, at St. Joseph's Hospital from a sudden bout with pneumonia. Audrey was born in Savannah, GA, on April 11, 1915, to the late Joseph and Sarah Allsbrook. She was also predeceased by an infant son and her husband, Benny B. Johnson, along with sisters --Sallie Buck, Gertrude Aaron, and Helen Walters. Audrey was a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Richmond Hill and was a Past Worthy Matron of Garden City Chapter No. 167 (now Bethlehem Chapter No. 269), Order of the Eastern Star, where she had been a member for well over 50 years. Prior to living with her son in Rincon and Pineora and with her daughter in Richmond Hill, she was a long time resident of Garden City. The past 7 months she had been a resident of the Bryan County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond Hill. Survivors include her son, Andrew J. Fanny (Joyce, deceased) of Pineora; daughter, Mary Lee Thompson (Richard) of Richmond Hill; five grandchildrenÑJoseph L. Fanny, Guyton; Glen A. Fanny; Debra Robinson (Coleman), Greenwood, SC; Paul B. Thompson (Jennifer), Richmond Hill; and John R. Thompson (Katie), Guyton; eleven great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by two nieces who always made a point to visit her once a yearÑSarah Forsythe (Jack) of N. Myrtle Beach, SC, and Donna Belluchie (Larry) of Greensburg, PA; and a nephewÑJack Schrenk (Nora) of Parker, CO. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at BCHRC where Audrey received excellent care and also to thank Drs. Allen J. Meadows and Anthony Costrini and staff as well as the nurses at St. Joseph's Hospital who provided compassionate support and excellent care. Visitation for Mrs. Johnson will be held Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home in Pooler. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Bonaventure Cemetery (Section M), conducted by Rev. Gary B. Quinney. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in memory of Audrey L.
