Arthur "Pete" Williams, 65, of St. Augustine, died unexpectedly on Sunday, March 15, 2009, at Flagler Hospital. Pete was born in Jacksonville and had resided in St. Augustine since moving here in his senior year of high school. He worked as a salesman for Les Miles Enterprises for more than 30 years and was currently employed at Home Depot, where he worked in contractor services. He enjoyed skeet shooting and was a member of the National Sporting Clay Association, the Amateur Trapshooting Association and the N.R.A. He is survived by his wife, Jean Williams, of St. Augustine; a daughter, Paige Williams, of Moulton, Ala.; a son, Shawn Williams, of St. Augustine; stepdaughters, Lynnie Clapshaw, of Hastings, Dorothy Williams, of Wales and Melinda Ransom, of Williston, Vt.; and granddaughters, Kristin Williams and Erika Williams, both of Albany, Ga. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2009, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Craig Eby officiating. St. Johns Family Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
