WHITAKER Arthur "Mutt" Whitaker, age 67, of Bridgeport, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 12, 2003. He was born on March 7, 1935, in Rich Square, N.C., to the late Eunice Whitaker and Annie B. Whitaker. Arthur leaves to cherish his memory his companion, Inell Furman Whitaker; sons, Lee Arthur Whitaker, Arthur Whitaker "C," Jason Robinson, Quashone Furman-Whitaker "Bubby" and Antwoine Warran; daughters, Amy Whitaker, Candance Whitaker-Smith, Audrey Whitaker, Kachana Furman and Ashanti Furman "Little Pumpkin"; brothers, Oliver, Ernest and James Whitaker; and sisters, Pearlene and Lissie Whitaker. Arthur was predeceased by two brothers, Claymon and Eugene Whitaker. A service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2003, at noon, at the George J. Peterson Funeral Home, 1041 Noble Avenue, Bridgeport, which has been entrusted with arrangements. Friends may greet the family from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Interment to be held at the convenience of the family.
