ANDERSON Arthur S. Anderson, 84, went to be with Jesus on April 29, 2003. He was born in Concord, Massachusetts on January 18, 1919. He graduated from Concord Massachusetts High School where he served as Class President for 4 years as well as the Captain of the football team for 4 years. He was a graduate of Northeastern University and was Class President and Captain of their football team all 4 years as well and earned a degree in Math and Physics. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Dempsey Anderson, whom he married on July 12, 1941. He was the father of four sons. His three living sons are Jeffrey (Carol), Christopher (Anita) and Mark (Starr). His six grandsons are Bryon, Paul, Stephen, Nicolas, Zachary and Chase. He served in the US Army during WWII where he was stationed in the Philippines and Tokyo, serving under General Douglas MacArthur. After the war he graduated from University of Florida with a degree in Horticulture. He lived in Mandarin since 1949, where he established his business, Arthur S. Anderson and Sons. He and his wife were one of the seven founding families of the Mandarin Presbyterian Church in 1962. He proudly served as a Deacon, Elder, Trustee and as Moderator of Suwanee Presbytery. Upon retirement he traveled with his wife and family around the world on Earth Watch Expeditions and Senior Hostels. A memorial service will be held at Mandarin Presbyterian Church 12001 Mandarin Rd., Saturday, May 3, 2003 at 11:00 AM.
