Arthur Ludger Friend, 90, Rotonda West, died Nov. 26, 2005, at the Englewood Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born Jan. 19, 1915, in Passumpsic, Vt., and came to the Rotonda West area in 2002 from East Windsor, Conn. He was the owner/operator and manager of Friend Machine Co. in East Hartford, Conn., retiring in 1963 after 20 years in business. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 03901 in East Hartford, Conn. Survivors include children Sandra P. Montminy of Rotonda West, Wayne A. of Morehead City, N.C., and Ronald of Columbia, S.C.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
