Arthur J. Manseau Sr. -- May 3, 1923 - Sept. 23, 2005 -- JEWETT CITY - Arthur J. Manseau Sr., 82, also known as "Rusty" and "Pepe" to all of his family and friends of 293 East Main St., Jewett City passed on into Gods hands while vacationing with family and friends in North Carolina. He was the son of the late Walter and Melvina (Laroux) Manseau. He retired from the State Of CT D.E.P. in 1989. He enjoyed life immensely and loved his children and grandchildren. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He enjoyed being with his many friends, especially those at the Jacques Cartier Club where he was a life member. He enjoyed his home and walks around the lake. He also enjoyed camping and woodworking. He was also proud of his famous wedding gazebo which he built and where many weddings and wedding pictures are taken. He will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved him.He is survived by his son Arthur Manseau Jr. and his wife Donna of Brooklyn, daughters Linda Taylor and her husband Lawrence of Plainfield, Sheila Bonneville and husband Paul of Moosup, Deborah Langlois and husband Donat of Griswold, Cheri Bruce and husband Jim of Kodak, TN. Daughterinlaw Christine Manseau of Jewett City, soninlaw Wayne Smith and wife Nancy of Griswold, one sister Dorothy Murphy of Griswold, 16 grandchildren, 19 greatgrandchildren and 1 greatgreat grandchild, many nieces and nephews. Arthur was predeceased by his loving wife Dorothy whom he married on May 6, 1944 and who passed away Oct. 19, 1988. He was also predeceased by his sons Robert and Gary, 1 great grandchild and two brothers Henry and Lawrence.The funeral will assemble Tuesday at 9 AM at the GagnePiechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Rd. Rt 138 Jewett City, CT. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM in St. Mary's Church Jewett City. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery Lisbon. Calling hours are Monday 24 and 79 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Jacques Chartier Club Childrens Christmas Fund Wilson St. Jewett City, CT 06351.
