Arthur Daniel Carroll, 94, died Dec. 17, 2009, at his home. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and lived in Port St. Lucie for five years, coming from Charlotte, N.C. He served in the Army Air Forces during World War II. After 33 years at sea, he retired from the Merchant Marine as chief radio officer. He also was a commander in the Coast Guard. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie. Survivors include his son, Daniel A. Carroll of Port St. Lucie; sister, Lois Gildt of Kingston, N.Y.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Morales Carroll; daughter, Gladys Bradbury; and sister, Mabel Miller. Services: Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 21, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at Forest Hills-Byrd, Young & Prill Funeral Home in Port St. Lucie. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Dec. 22 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie. Burial will follow at Rolling Oaks Cemetery in Port St. Lucie.
