CARTER _ Arthur Frederick 1934 - 2004 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Art Carter on October 23, 2004. Art passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy struggle with cancer. He leaves to mourn, his wife Helen; his daughter Kim; sons, Jim (Tiffany and Keylan) and Derek; grandchildren, Tyson, Brett, Jasmine and Dominic; and brother Garry (Willie). He is also survived by his former wife Jean; daughter-in-law Pam; aunts, Catherine, Mary and Nell (Nick); cousins, nieces and nephews, two stepsons and a stepdaughter, and three step-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents John and Henrietta Carter. Art was born in Calgary and worked for General Motors for thirty-three years, living with his family in various cities in Canada. After his retirement, he spent most of his winters in his Yuma, Arizona home with his wife Helen. Art touched many lives throughout his life and was always there when someone needed a helping hand. He will be missed by many friends as well as his family. We wish to give special thanks to Dr. Elaine Harris and all the surgeons, doctors, dentist, nurses and staff of the Foothills Hospital and the Tom Baker Cancer Centre who treated him from his initial diagnosis throughout his valiant struggle with this disease. We are also grateful for the support of the Home Care Nurses and the Palliative Home Care Team. Family and friends are invited to meet at the upstairs Reception Centre at LEYDEN'S FUNERAL HOME, 304 - 18 Avenue S.W. at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 28, 2004 to share memories of a dear friend and family member.
