DOWNING, Arthur C. 82, passed away Monday, December 6, 2004. Mr. Downing was a farmer, born in Vickery, OH on July 24, 1922 to Edwin and Nellie (nee White) Downing. He had been a resident of Avon Park since 1980, coming from Green Springs, OH. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Old Fort, OH and Avon Park Activities Club. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Downing of Avon Park; daughter, Janice M. Downing of Irvine, CA; sons, James Downing of Sarasota, FL (Martha), Jack Downing of Green Springs, OH (Ida), Jeff Downing of Sebring, FL, Jerry Downing of Green Springs, OH (Dorothy), Jon Downing of Green Springs, OH; sister, Elverna Wolfe of Belleview, OH; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 9, 2004 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Avon Park, FL. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 10, 2004 at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Old Fort Methodist Church, Eas t Pleasant Street, Old Fort, OH or the First United Methodist Church in Avon Park, or to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
