PETERBOROUGH -- Arlene F. (LaCross) Williams, 90, of Greenfield Road, died July 25, 2008, at Monadnock Community Hospital, Peterborough. She was born in Nashua, April 30, 1918, to David and Melissa (Davis) LaCross. She attended school in Peterborough, graduating in 1935. She and her husband were married for 68 years. She had lived in Peterborough all of her life. She was a member of VFW Auxiliary of Peterborough. She worked at Noone Mills, Peterborough, as a secretary and office manager, for 40 years. She was a member of Union Congregational Church, Peterborough. She enjoyed her home, gardens and flowers, and her grandchildren. She enjoyed making crafts for the church circle, and knitting beautiful sweaters for her family. She was a wonderful homemaker and caregiver for her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Warren Earle Williams, on Aug. 23, 2007. Family members include two daughters, Kay E. Springfield of Nassau, N.Y., and Carol J. Andersen of Derry; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. SERVICES: There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Union Congregational Church, Concord Street, Peterborough, with the Rev. Polly Shamy, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Peterborough. Memorial donations may be made to Monadnock Community Hospital, Peterborough 03458.
