SOMERSWORTH — Antoinette E. (LaPanne) Mercier, 85, formerly of Somersworth and most recently of Gonic, died Dec. 2, 2010, in Dover.She was born in Montville, Conn. on May 19, 1925, the daughter of Albany and Emelia (Bressard) LaPanne.Antoinette had lived in South Berwick, Maine in her younger years, having worked at and retired from South Berwick Shoe.She enjoyed various crafts.Antoinette was the widow of George Mercier and Bob Dumont.Members of the family include her children, Edward Mercier and his wife, Maureen, of Somersworth, Allen Mercier of Gonic, Carol Comeau (Mercier) and her husband, Forrest Comeau, of Gonic; her siblings, David LaPanne of Florida, Theresa Berube of Dover, Lorraine Little of Sanford, Maine and Florence Hancock of Rochester; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her siblings, Normand, Bob and Gilbert LaPanne and Evelyn Coritore.A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 8 at 1 p.m. in New Town Cemetery, Rollinsford officiated by Mr. Brad Trafton.Arrangements for Antoinette are entrusted to the Bernier Funeral Home, 49 South St. Somersworth.Visit www.fosters.com/obits for an online guest book.
